RIDER UPDATE: HILL SULPHER

The following is a short question and answer with Hilliard Sulpher which took place sometime last week through email. Enjoy.

James: How old are you now Hill? I remember when you were a little guy (12 yrs old) and had to wear a helmet at I.O.S.S to skate. Do you have any specific memories from growing up skating in Windsor and Detroit that stand out?

Hill: I'm 19 years of age.
Growing up an I.O.S.S was pretty cool. but I always remember being the young one. The helmet thing really messed me up. But the park was dope and thats pretty much where I skated for at least four years of my life. My homies I used to skate with are all still doing it, there wasn't that many of us growing up so we all skated together. Kinda bummed I don't get to see them too often.

James: You seem to have a good thing going for you in Van. What is it like living with Lee, Mike Mckay and Kelley?

Hill: Damn, Van is sick. I was gonna leave in September but I can tell this is the place I want to spend my life. I'm kinda living in the center of cracktown..but I have some good roommates and the Circa office is right down the street. We have got one of the dopest spots right in front of our stoop. It's the snake pit cuz, some crazy shits gone down here in the last few months. Definitely gonna have some memories of this spot. Before this I was in the West end..lets just say lots of gay dudes, but the beach was pretty key to scope babes and it was right downtown.

James: Do you ever envision yourself moving back from out West? What (other than the weather and skateboarding) makes Van your home of choice?

Hill:
I don't picture myself leaving here and I don't have plans to come back.

James: The Change video (FDC) was edited and released with out much feedback from you during the whole process. Were you happy with your part? What would you eliminate or add to make it different?

Hill:
As for FDC I was kinda bummed. I had moved out here and didn't have a filmer or anyway to get new footage for it. It's too bad when I was in one of the best spots to skate in Canada. I know could have pulled through better then that but it was good to see everybody in the video killing it.

James: Anything else you want to mention or talk about?

Hill: EASTCOAST..Cobras
